From Haus Laboratories by Lady Gaga, Kay Beauty by
Katrina Kaif to Florence by Mills (Millie Bobby Brown), even the beauty
industry business today is dominated by celebrities. Celebrities are the real
beauty influencers and it is no big deal if they want to have their own make-up
line or to collaborate with a beauty brand. There is a big list of celebs who are setting
their foot into the beauty industry. Thanks to social media that helps them to
directly connect with their followers and market their products and also show
how to use them.
The celebs promise that anyone can create a look
similar to them if they use products from their brand. Like Kylie Jenner
(founder of Kylie Cosmetics), who used to get wide attention for her plumped
lips, launched lip kits for people to get the same look as that of her. The
products sold out in huge numbers and made her the world’s youngest self-made
billionaire. Now she also has launched a skincare brand which has been
receiving mixed reviews. Following Kylie, her sister Kim Kardashian, who is
famous for heavy contours launched KKW Beauty and these two often collaborate
for their brands.
Another famous brand is Fenty Beauty by Rihanna. She
started off by launching foundation in 40 different shades and it truly matches
with her brand’s tagline ‘Beauty for All’. The brand’s approach was inclusivity
which brought the founder great success and is listed as one of the best celeb make-up
brands. Even Iman Cosmetics by Iman shares the same approach and has a wide
range of shades for every skin tone.
Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore aims on providing
quality products at low prices. That’s what makes it special. The founder
believes in making her products affordable because no matter what people’s
economics are, everyone deserves to feel beautiful.
Kay Beauty by Katrina Kaif is all about celebrating
the essence of being a woman and to be the best version of herself. Its ad
doesn’t feature even a single product from the brand. The products kare (care)
for the skin and the brand emphasizes on that it is kay (okay) to be
yourself.
These celebrities who have learnt a lot of tips and
tricks by make-up artists and skincare specialists over the years, spend a lot
of time researching formulation and ingredients for their products. While some
of these brands are definitely worth giving a try, has a good initiative behind
them and is pocket-friendly but some of them had been disasters.
Have you ever tried a celebrity make-up brand? If
